Other Names and Titles
In Texts 4 and 5 U Pakal K'inich Janab' Pakal II's name is followed by the glyph B'a Ch'ok, which has been translated as 'Head Prince' or 'First Prince'. These two references date to before U Pakal K'inich Janab' Pakal II's accession, and probably indicate that he was considered to be an heir to the kingdom (he was not the immediate heir, however: K'inich Akul Mo' Nab' III was the next king of Palenque, acceding in AD 721). In Texts 5, 6, and 7 U Pakal K'inich Janab' Pakal II's name is followed by the Palenque emblem glyph.
